# A Beginners Guide to Spirituality Mini-Series. Part 1
Hi, I have decided to dive into topics that many of you have been asking about, through a blog mini series with practical tips for exploration.
First of all...Thank you for being a subscriber. If you're new here, welcome to a safe space where we can explore the deeper aspects of our existence together. In our fast-paced, modern world, people are increasingly seeking ways to connect with something beyond the physical, something that resonates with their inner knowing. Today, I want to explore consciousness and spirituality in a way that feels accessible, especially if you're just beginning your spiritual journey or feeling curious about what lies beyond our material reality.
## The Playful Nature of Spiritual Exploration
One of the most beautiful insights about spirituality is that it doesn't have to be serious or complicated. The universe itself is playful and mysterious, and the only way to truly move inside this field of playfulness and curiosity is to be like a child.Children don't overthink things, they play, they explore, they laugh. They approach life with wonder rather than worry. When we bring this childlike mindset to our spiritual journey, everything transforms. We can laugh a little, joke a little, and realise that we're all in it together. What's even more profound is the realisation that we all created this beautiful experience so we could play and dance inside of it. It’s our own personal movie and you are the main character. When we remember this, spiritual practice becomes less about striving for enlightenment and more about enjoying the journey home to ourselves.

##Let’s begin with Spirituality vs Consciousness
What is the difference?
For me personally, Spirituality is a concept, a spectrum of the whole. A vehicle in which to explore Consciousness, which I identify as an electrical and magnetic energy frequency in motion, that moves in and around… and creates our reality ….make sense ?
## What is Consciousness Really?
Consciousness is intelligent energy that permeates everything in existence. It's inside me, it's inside you, it's inside the trees, the flowers, and every living being. Think of consciousness as the very fabric that weaves through all of reality, it's not just something we have, it's something we are fundamentally part of.Many of us go through life believing that what we see is all there is. I understand this perspective completely. When we begin to recognise consciousness as the foundation of our existence, we start to see the world differently. The boundaries between "me" and "everything else" begin to soften. We realise that we're not separate from the universe we are the universe experiencing itself through human form.
## The Quantum Field and Our Place Within It
Within the architecture of existence, we have what some call the quantum field, think; time, space, ether and matter. The whole field of energy throughout all existence. This field contains both our physical body and our light body, with consciousness flowing through all aspects of this structure. Add in the power of observation, deduction and action, and you have a perspective on consciousness. If you imagine the quantum field is also like a great big ocean, you can’t see what’s under the surface but you know it is thriving with life and energy in perpetual motion.
We are all fractals of this infinite intelligence. Our individual souls work in soul groups, and those soul groups work in larger soul groups, becoming larger and larger all the way back to source God, infinite intelligence, the universe, whichever label resonates with you.
## The Energy Beyond Physical
Have you ever tried this simple exercise? Rub your palms together in circles, creating heat and then stop. Place your hand opposite another persons hand, push pull the energy between you both without touching. Can you feel the energy is now feeling tangible? That's energy that exists beyond the physical but that you can feel in your physical body.As you play with this field and get used to it, you can feel the expanse between your hands and even learn to expand this energy to your whole body. This simple exercise demonstrates something profound: there's an energetic reality that coexists with our physical one. In spiritual traditions, this energetic structure is sometimes called the "light body', an invisible geometric framework that occupies the same space as our physical form and sometimes extends beyond it.What's fascinating is that this light body isn't just an accessory to our physical body it's actually the foundation and anchor for it. Our energetic structure precedes and supports our material existence. This inverts the common materialist perspective that consciousness emerges from physical matter, suggesting instead that physical reality is anchored by energetic structures.
## Spirituality, ## Seeing the Soul in Others
For me, spirituality is also about sharing this quantum field of reality. We as human beings all look a little bit different, but if you look into the eyes of another person long enough, you begin to see the light, the energy, the soul within them. When you truly see someone this way, you're actually seeing yourself reflected back, we're all reflections of this universal intelligence. This perspective shifts how we relate to others. Instead of seeing strangers, competitors, or even enemies, we begin to recognise the same divine spark that animates us is present in everyone. This doesn't mean we'll always agree or that relationships become effortless, but it can create a foundation of respect and compassion that transforms how we move through the world.
## Spirit vs. Soul: Understanding the Distinction
A key distinction worth understanding is between spirit and soul. Your soul is contained within you it's your individual spiritual essence. Spirit, however, is everywhere. Like the divine mother , Gaia, Papatuanuku (Maori word for Mother Earth) it's the divine intelligence that flows through consciousness, through the light body, into the soul, and into the physical body. This distinction helps us understand both our individuality and our universal connection simultaneously. Your unique soul gives you your personal journey and perspective, while spirit connects you to everything else in existence.

## Practical Steps for Spiritual Connection
The Power of Stillness
One of the best things you can do on your spiritual journey is to be still. Take long, slow, deep breaths in through your nose, down to your belly, and out through your mouth. Bring all of your awareness into your breath and follow it in and out of your body. Sit in stillness for 5-10 minutes and just observe yourself. Feel that state of calmness and presence. From this centered state, it becomes much easier to connect to the world beyond the physical.
## Embracing the Journey with Gentleness
Take your time with this process. Don't rush into spiritual exploration be soft, gentle, and present with yourself. The spiritual path isn't a race or a competition. It's a deeply personal journey of remembering who you truly are. When you encounter concepts that feel complex or overwhelming, remember that simplicity is often the key. Start with what resonates and feels true for you, and allow your understanding to expand naturally as you continue to explore.
## Looking Within
When you take a deep dive into your heart when you become still, present, and enter a state of meditation, you start to feel yourself. You start to know yourself. As you empty the mind and let go of thoughts and things that don’t belong to you, but you have carried with you. You experience a deep inner resonance the energy that created you, that created worlds, universes, galaxies, and multiverses. This connection to your inner being is the foundation of all spiritual growth. It's not about accumulating spiritual knowledge or having extraordinary experiences (though those may come) it's about remembering your true nature as a conscious being intimately connected with all of existence.
## Finding Support on Your Journey
The spiritual path, while deeply personal, doesn't have to be walked alone. Finding a community of like-minded, like-hearted people can provide invaluable support, inspiration, and companionship along the way.Whether through in-person gatherings, online communities, or one-on-one connections with spiritual mentors, surrounding yourself with others who understand and respect your journey can make all the difference. These connections remind us that while our experiences are unique, the essence of what we're exploring is universal. However, be warned that just having the word 'Consciousness'' or 'Spiritual' in front of any group or community does not always translate into authenticity, which I will write about in another part of this mini series.
## Embracing Both Simplicity and Depth
Spirituality can be really complicated or really simple, it all depends on how you approach it. There are terms and concepts within spirituality that might initially confuse you, and others that are intuitive and easy to understand. What's important to remember is that the complexity exists to describe the depth of experience, not to create barriers to entry. You don't need to understand every concept or master every practice to benefit from spiritual exploration. Start where you are, with what makes sense to you, and trust that your understanding will naturally deepen over time.
## Moving Forward on Your Spiritual Path
If you're new to spirituality, I encourage you to approach this journey with an open heart and a curious mind. Question everything, and trust your own inner guidance above all else. Your intuition is your most reliable compass on this path.Remember that spirituality isn't about escaping life, it's about experiencing it more fully. It's about recognising the sacred in the ordinary, finding peace amid chaos, and remembering the truth of who you are beyond the roles and identities you've accumulated. As you continue exploring, be gentle with yourself. There's no rush, no finish line, no perfect way to be spiritual.
There's only your unique journey of awakening to the consciousness that you already are. I'd love to hear about your experiences with consciousness and spirituality. What resonates with you? What challenges you? What questions are arising as you explore? Share your thoughts in the comments below, and let's continue this beautiful conversation together.*For those interested in deepening their spiritual practice, I offer online consultations and in-person group sessions.
